PORTSMOUTH — A bowling alley with arcade games, ax throwing, cornhole, a restaurant and outdoor bar is moving into Portsmouth this fall.
PiNZ is opening its first New Hampshire location with a 20,000-square-foot venue at 2454 Lafayette Road, the former Big Lots building. It will be the company’s fifth upscale family entertainment center with three locations in Massachusetts and one set to open in New Hartford, N.Y., within the next few weeks.
“We want people to come in, and if they hit a gutter ball every time, so be it. If you have a smile on your face, that’s great,” CEO David Breen said. “If you’re looking to expand your bowling league, you’re not for us.”
Breen said they plan to have 10 bowling lanes, 40 arcade games, three or four bays for ax throwing and an outdoor patio space with a firepit and room for cornhole tournaments.
“The goal is to have parents bring their kids during the afternoon for a birthday party and come back another time to enjoy the nightlife.”
